Sigh. My tummy’s hyper acidity isn’t ending anytime soon. This is not a good sign. I hope I don’t have any hidden stomach ulcer (which might be a possibility, I’m having all the symptoms). I had sour belch on Saturday. I still need to take my antacid after every meal. I don’t want to see a doc, but I might have to soon.
I just bought fresh young ginger, lemongrass and some healthy snacks for office. I’m going to make some ginger tea tonight. According to About.com, here are some information on my new good friend – Mr. Ginger:
Ginger and Health
Ginger is an excellent natural remedy for nausea, motion sickness, morning sickness and general stomach upset due to its carminative effect which helps break up and expel intestinal gas. Some studies show ginger may also help prevent certain forms of cancer. Ginger tea has been recommended to alleviate nausea in chemotherapy patients primarily because its natural properties do not interact in a negative way with other medications. It is a safe remedy for morning sickness, since it will not harm the fetus.
To make ginger tea, slice some ginger root, put it in a tea ball and place in a teapot. Pour boiling water over the tea ball and let it sit for ten minutes. Sweeten with honey or drink it straight. In spite of it being a natural remedy, it is important that any medicinal use of ginger be discussed with a physician, as it must be taken in moderation to avoid gastric irritation.
Breakfast: Two slices of whole grain bread with Nutella, a can of Milo
Bad Lunch: Ayam penyet with rice, potato and one baby tomato (couldn’t help myself!)
Apparently, I’m supposed to avoid all oily, fatty, spicy and sour food during this time because more acid will be produced. I just popped two pills, hopefully my tummy will feel better. I know I’m a stubborn girl. Tonight, I’m steaming fish with broccoli and carrot. Good enough? It will be a light dinner. I might do some yoga in the evening – depending on my timing.
