Carrots 101: Carrot Milk Juice & Carrot Facial Mask

I LOVE CARROTS. My mum used to catch me stealing carrots when she’s cooking – hence, I was nicknamed “Bugs Bunny”. Carrots are high in Vitamin A and beta-carotene, and a natural cancer-fighter!

I bought my Philips Alu Juicer HR1861 a year ago when Philips was my client (you get discount benefits!). It juices carrots perfectly – but it’s not very good with celery or parsley (anything green for that matter). It is definitely one of the higher range juicers in the market – but get it only if you juice alot, if not you will need the space. I love drinking carrot juice or even add a lil’ milk to it. Rest assured, this is not rocket science. It’s simple – just don’t be lazy.

How to Make Carrot Milk Juice

Step 1: Cut 4 x carrots into halves. Just wash ‘em clean will do.

Step 2: Drop each carrot in one by one. Juice at high speed.

Step 3: Pour the juice into a glass. That’s four carrots btw.

Step 4: Pour 1/4 of milk if you dislike carrot juice in its natural taste.

Step 5: Drink up! YUM YUM (mind my geeky glasses!)

So, what’s next? Cleaning up! Yeah, the most boring part of juicing. So easy to juice, so many to wash! The best part is you don’t really need liquid detergent but warm water and a brush will do the trick. The other thing is what can you do with the remaining carrot zest? For me, I like to make my own facial masks after juicing. It’s doubling up the carrot goodness!

How to Make Your Carrot Facial Mask

I’m a lazy girl sometimes. I could be more inventive but I decided to just blend the carrot zest with Body Shop’s Basil Purifying Mask. The trick is to blend it smoothly before application and make sure it all sticks to your face! Carrots are good for acne skin – and I’ve been battling pimples for the longest time. I’ve to say carrots are really good (in a way) for keeping the pimples small and controlled.

And, you end up looking like a carrot orange monster! Haha. Keep the mask on for about 10 min before washing it off. I promise, you’ll be happy with your shiny, happy skin. I’ve been making my own carrot masks for a couple of weeks now. It feels awesome.
