Oops. I’ve been lazy. Yeah, blogging is not my main priority in life. However, I guess I’ve to blog sooner or later, no? OK, I can’t really remember what I had for lunch and blah blah blah. Wednesday:

Breakfast: Salmon and cheese sandwich

Lunch: Ayam penyet with rice, apples

Snack: Kellogg’s cornflakes

Dinner: Vietnamese sliced beef noodles, 1 x fried fish cake, plum soda, pudding

Thursday:

Breakfast: Salmon sandwich

Lunch: US deli wrap, blueberry yoghurt from The Sandwich Shop

Snack: Burger Rings, blueberry muffin

Dinner: (undecided)

Sunday Hangover

I don’t think I’ve a hangover but I’m feeling a little weird since Friday night. Gosh, my body clock has been overthrown and it’s kinda like a hangover but I know it’s not. I slept late again last night – maybe that’s why. My body automatically wakes up at 9am and I can’t sleep till noon as I used to. I need a new pillow too.

I haven’t been sleeping properly for the past couple of days. My neck and back are stiff as hell. I decided to go for an upper back massage at Wan Yang Health Products & Foot Reflexology in Plaza Singapura today. I used to frequent My Foot Reflexology at Raffles City but I decided to have a change. And, it was worth it. A little more expensive but my masseuse was strong and he loosen up all my knots. I wish it was a little longer though.

Manhattan Fish Market’s Platter for Two

Yesterday, my friends and I had dinner at Manhattan Fish Market at Plaza Singapura. Not the most healthy dinner but I haven’t had that in a long time. It was average – not fantastic food. After that, we went to watch Hellboy II: The Golden Army. Then, we hopped over to Rochor Soya Bean for bean curd, soy milk and Portugese egg tarts.

Today, no exercise because I felt weird. Alot of walking and I had to do some mystery shopping at Funan IT Mall as well. Here’s what I have today:

Breakfast: Kaya toast, two eggs and fresh orange juice

Lunch: Jollibean pancakes and soy milk

Dinner: Roast potatoes, lemon pepper salmon and brocolli, fruit juice

Snack: 1 x Reese peanut butter cup, 1 x bite of blueberry muffin, chamomile tea

My Bubster decided to bake blueberry muffins today. So we went to buy the tray and some muffin mix (yes, we’re lazy) and voila!! We have freshly baked muffins. They taste fabulous, haha. Thanks Betty Crocker.

Before… Just gooey and all.

After… blueberry muffins!!

I’m going to learn how to bake stuff – cakes, cookies, cupcakes… you name it. I’m going to be the next Nigella. Haha, kidding.

Life is a Party

I know, I haven’t been up and exercising. Or, even blogging. I haven’t really exercising this week. It was Reena’s birthday yesterday and we decided to celebrate at Aangan North Indian Restaurant. I know, rich and fatty food but I like. The food is fabulous – like, really really good. I think it’s the best in Singapore and I’m not kidding considering I eat often at Little India.

We order everything from butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, prawns, fish, mutton, aloo gobhi, you name it! And my favourite mango lassi. Also we had a fabulous birthday cake from Canele. Only the best, the signature cake. You’ve to try it, it’s amazing.

Here’s what I ate yesterday:

Breakfast: Peanut Butter on toast

Lunch: Subway sandwich (Italian BMT)

Dinner: North Indian food and chocolate cake, mango lassi

Snack: REAL energy bar (almond and fruit with yoghurt)

Late-Night: Frozen strawberry margarita, Appletini

Today, I woke up feeling ultra-stoned. I immediately did 30-min on the cross trainer. It was exhilarating but it was good. I needed it after all the crazy Indian food. I had a papaya and banana after because I was literally dying. Later, I’m going to watch Hellboy 2, like finally. Tata!

It’s Only Thursday??

I’m not used to working full day on a Thursday. I’m dreading Friday too. LOL. Anyway I didn’t sleep very well last night, so I decided to skip workout today. I’m exhausted after cooking, and doing the dishes. Yes, I’m a Desperate Housewife. I did a little abs pilates while watching TV until my abs start to shake. Does that count? Plus I climb stairs at work. Here’s what Missy ate today:

Breakfast: Peanut Butter on toast, Nutrifresh

Lunch: Prawn Noodle and Cold Cheng Tng (dessert)

Snack: REAL energy bar (fruits & nut yoghurt), homemade banana milkshake (with 2 x bananas + milk)

Dinner: Pan-fried egg, french beans and stewed pumpkin with brown rice, cranberry juice

After-Dinner: Ginger & Honey tea, Prune juice

Yeah, alot of calories today. Can’t help it. I was shocked at my poor ‘dying’ bananas so I decided to make a milkshake by blending them with milk. It was ultra-yum! Must make more milkshakes in future. It’s 1030pm and I am dead sleepy. Aunty needs her rest. Good night, world.

OK, I haven’t been exercising or very healthy. The girl needs comfort food after her exam. And, she needs to shop. Well, not much shopping really – more like, killing time before meeting friends for dinner. I met my old friend, Zubs for Pepper Lunch because he has been raving about it to his Melbourne friends. And, I haven’t been surrounded by smokers in a long time. Welcome back, Zubs.

Breakfast: Nutella on toast

Lunch: Minced meat mee pok and apple

Dinner: Beef sukiyaki set with Root Beer (yeah, bad drink) from Pepper Lunch

Snack: REAL energy bar (almond & apricot), Morning Dew tea from Coffee Club

It was fun chatting with the guys and gals. It feels like school all over again. Just mindless fun, not worrying about cooking, doing dishes and you know, grown-up stuff. I wish I was a teenager, once again.

Oh, and here’s a picture of last night’s dinner: Steam chicken with ginger and french beans, baby tomatos.

The Real Energy Bar

As recommended by my colleague, I decided to try REAL Energy Bar. It’s all natural ingredients, non GMO, dairy free, low in salt, wheat free, gluten free, no trans fat source of fibre, no sulphur dioxide, low GI value, no added artificial colours,, flavours or preservatives and etc. What else can you ask for? So far, I had the almond & apricot flavour. It has this coconuty taste which I don’t like – maybe the yoghurt ones tastes better. Hmm.

I know, I’m abit late. Here’s my Tuesday Food Roundup!

Breakfast: Nutella on toast, Nutrifresh

Lunch: Shokudo Omelette Pasta, really weird

Dinner: Steam chicken with ginger, steam french beans with baby tomatos, banana

And, I did 30-min of yoga last night. Till later!

!!!Panic Monday!!!

The day before the e-x-a-m. Ooh, the excitement, not to mention cold sweat too! To be honest, I’m kinda chilled. I should be panicking but I’m not. I’m as cool as cucumbers. I had my usual 2-hour nap, study a little, cook but no exercise today (Aunt Irma still lurking around). The EYS Bak Foong Pills are definitely working. I still get cramps, but not major, unbearable ones. I still need my hot water bottle and wheaty bag.

Today has been really rainy. My shoes got soaked from the rain splashing in, which is unusual. I decided to have some brain food today – high in protein, iron – you name it. I’ve been having New Moon Chicken Essence consistently for two weeks now. It did perk my up a little, but didn’t stop me from my long naps. Let’s see how I fare in this exam.

Breakfast: Cooked oats with cranberries, Protein Berry

Lunch: Fried fish noodle soup, 1 x Guava and 1 x Jelly

Dinner: Steam fish with ginger, steam spinach with garlic and brown rice, cranberry juice

I’m going to make some ginger tea with honey now. I’ve got alot of gas. Woo!

A Walk to the Museum

It’s just another weekend. We normally cook on Sunday night – used to be curry night or pasta night or whatever. I know, I’m super domesticated but I love it. I basically plonked myself at home, trying to study (but concentration levels getting lower as exam gets nearer). Bubster and I walked to the National Museum of Singapore where we had coffee, tea and a lemon meringue tart at Novus & WA cafe-bar. It’s always quiet around there, unlike Orchard you know.

Here’s what I had on my lovely Sunday:

Breakfast: Cooked oats with brown sugar, Protein Berry

Snack: 1 x lavender tea blend, 1/2 of a lemon meringue tart, 3 x sticky date cookies, 1 x small slice of cheesecake, 1 x cup of Burger Rings, 1 x carrot milk juice

Dinner: Grilled lamb and roast vegetables, lemongrass-ginger tea

I basically skipped lunch after National Museum. I just wasn’t hungry – maybe because of Aunt Irma. I don’t know. It’s usual for me to skip lunch on a Sunday. Chill by the pool and eat some fruits. I took off today (yeah! no Monday blues) to study again, but I’m not doing a good job at it. Stop blogging!!

Aunt Irma’s Weekend Visit

OH yeah. AUNT IRMA is here. I was on my way to do my weekly grocery shopping and *poof* out comes Aunt Irma. I know, it’s about time since she is two days late (again). So, I’ll be skipping the workouts for the next couple of days as I hug my hot water bottle or wheaty bag.

Let’s see, I did 30-min on the cross-trainer at the gym yesterday – it’s my alternative to running because my knees are clicky (sometimes painful) and I’m too young for knee replacements. It’s not like I’ve never tried running – I did, for a year plus before it got to a point which I couldn’t stand up from squatting positions. I could even move my knee caps from left to right. Until today, it clicks very loudly whenever I bend my knees. DO YOU THINK I SHOULD BE RUNNING? Hell, no.

The gym got a little crowded so I left and I had a snack before studying begins. I couldn’t really concentrate much. I had a two-hour nap (again) and I went to Orchard for dinner. So much for exam preparation. Anyway, I can’t really be bothered. Weekends are so precious. Here’s a breakdown of yesterday’s yum yum:

Breakfast: Nutella on a slice of toast, Protein Berry

Snack: Kiwi fruit, SOYJOY raisin & almond, lemongrass juice, Japanese cheesecake (one bite)

Lunch: Sweet & sour pork, steam vegetables (Pumpkin, Brocolli & Carrot)

Not-So-Good Dinner: Samsui ginger chicken, spicy veggie (which I only had like two scoops), beggar ribs (pork), chrysanthemum tea, steam peanuts (appetiser), half a bowl of rice, soymilk

Late-Night: A glass of milk, lemongrass-ginger tea

I had a really bruised knuckle. This is what happens when you take your anger out at a DOOR. You’ll never win the door because its made of wood and its harder than your knuckles. It was ultra-swollen on Friday night and I had to freeze it with a bag of frozen peas. Oh well. I need anger management, really.

Groceries are getting very expensive. $90 plus for two in a household. Bubster and I just bought our usual vegetables, bread, milk, meat, fish and fruits – maybe some extras (fabric softener, etc). We used to spend only $50 plus and our receipt is a reflection of the rising food prices. I know most of my peers don’t shop for their own food and prolly oblivious about world economics – as they rather spend on Louis Vuitton bags and Ferrragamo shoes. Gosh, I hate inflation and I hate paying rent.

The weather outside doesn’t look good. It seems like I’ll be spending my Sunday indoors. No lounging by the pool today. Sigh. Surprisingly, Aunt Irma is not so crampy this time round – maybe it’s too early to tell. I’ve been religiously taking Eu Yan Sang’s Gold Label Bak Foong Pills every week as it is supposed to help with menstrual ailments. I used to take it once a month. After last month’s agony, I decided to increase my dosage per month to see if it helps regulate Aunt Irma and her grumpiness.

The website says, “Eu Yan Sang Bak Foong Pills is made from a combination of precious Chinese fine herbs such as ginseng, deer’s antler and other choice tonics which result in a formula that is energizing and of high nourishing values. The product is well known as a special treatment for women, generally prescribed for menstrual ailments and postnatal illness. Regular consumption can help promote youthfulness, improve complexion and boost immunity.”

I’ll give you an update on my progress. Till later.

Freedom Friday. Not.

It’s the Fourth of July, but not that I really care because there’s no real celebration here. I don’t work on Fridays anyway. I’m on a full study marathon until Tuesday (exam *groans*) and then, I’ll taste F-R-E-E-D-O-M. Oh yes. As you can see, I enjoy blogging during my study period because I’m a major procrastinator. During this period, my house is ultra-clean and there will be no dirty laundry or dirty dishes in the sink. Talk to Bubster, he knows.

I just did 40-min of Denise Austin’s Hit The Spot Pilates. This is definitely my staple pilates DVD. You can customise your own workouts (just ADD, and ADD) to target and tone which ever part of the body you wish. Each workout is about 10 min – so you don’t have the time, just pick one, because everyone has 10-min to spare right? The best thing about this DVD, you can just have music and not Denise’s instructions as she can sound a little annoying.

Today, I did abs & waistline, power abs, thighs and hips. Power Abs is a real killer for me, especially when I just finished abs & waistline. I can’t do a full teaser, you know those V-shape ones. I can only manage a half. I did pulled a full teaser once before toppling to the side. My goal right now is to be able to do a full teaser by September.

Meet Sticky Date Cookie.

I’ve been having these for a couple of days now. I got it from the health section in Cold Storage. According to the pack, each cookie is about 50 calories. They were quite yummy, not too sweet but Bubster thinks they’re alright. He thinks I sacrificed good yummy sugary stuff for this blah cookie. I miss my gingernut cookies from Marks & Spencer *sobs*

Last night’s dinner.

I took this picture because I was kinda proud on how my lemon pepper grilled chicken bits turned out. Yesterday’s dinner was yummy. Today I’m not cooking because it’s Friday and I’m lazy. It seems like someone is not coming home for dinner and now, it’s 8:20pm. Thanks for not calling, Bubster.

Breakfast: Nutella on toast, Protein Berry

Lunch: Leftover from last night – steam vegetables and lemon pepper grilled chicken

Snack: Kiwi fruit, 3 x stick date cookies, SOYJOY hawthorn berry, lemongrass juice

Dinner: Yong Tau Foo and Papaya. I’m boring, what can I say

Happy weekend!!
