I was reading SHAPE Singapore and here’s a food for thought by Valorie Burton, life coach and author of ‘Listen To Your Life’ who said, ‘When you find little motivation to jump-start your day, it’s time to transform your life into something worth waking up for. Simple changes can makeover your life“.
“Be in a relationship that doesn’t drain you. Your relationships should give you energy, not take it away. Think about your closest relationships. After spending time with these people, do you feel better or worse? It’s a simple question but quite telling. If your lack relationships that nurture and support you, it’s time to redefine your relationships and begin building new ones“.
There is so much truth in this statement. I find it hard to have positive friends around me (no idea why I’m a magnet to negative people). To be honest, I end up avoiding people – be it at work, school or anywhere. I realised once I started doing things on my own and finding support in family and loved ones – I am happier, not-so-judgmental and less BITCHY.
I hate gossip, period. I don’t want to talk negatively about anyone because it’s not going to solve any problem, and it’s not going to make me feel better about myself. It’s accumulating bad karma and I don’t need that, really. So, if life is getting you down – it’s time for a makeover!
